What goes into a TVC production: a guide for brands
A television commercial can look effortless on screen. Behind it is a careful process. Knowing the stages helps brands brief better and avoid surprises.
Idea and script
Every TVC starts with one clear idea and a script built around it. Storyboards show how each shot will look before anyone books a camera.
Pre-production
Casting, locations, costumes, props and a shot list are locked. This is where most budget decisions are made.
The shoot
A crew sized to the job captures the film, usually in one or two days. Good planning keeps shoot days calm.
Post-production
Editing, colour grading, sound design, music and graphics turn footage into a finished film.
Deliver for every screen
A single TVC shoot should also produce 10, 15 and 30-second cuts, vertical versions for social and stills. A good TVC production house plans those from day one.
